She's all set! We took two weeks to really put all the fine touches on a fully custom trailer that will be making the cross-country run from Virginia to California (and inevitably back) throughout the year.
This trailer was designed as a real hub for big trips and consistent travel. We worked hard to make the most of the trailer to allow for tons of bike storage, but with plenty of room for bags, storage containers, even room to sleep, change, and eat if the weather outside is too rainy or cold. We also included a number of different mounts, including the Wheelie and Forkmount, even a few Gondolas for the ski season.
If you've been following along, you'll also know that we installed solar panels on the roof to light the trailer, but also to use for charging phones and GPS units. There's enough juice to power a minifridge, too! The batteries to store power got a pretty neat home, with a cutaway panel in the floor to save usable space along the wall or ceiling.
This version of the hauler can fit over a dozen bikes, but the really cool part is that it's all so adaptable. Using the Wall Rail and different combination of mounts, you can maximize your storage, or clear things out and use it to work on bikes or skis, take your pals for a quick ride across town or pack up the family for an adventure across the country. The whole system is designed to let you put the things you need where you need them, and move them back again.
Ready to roll.
External wall rails for working on bikes at the trailhead or before the race.
Plenty of room to wheel in bikes, skis, or people.
All the mounts. All of them.
We hid the battery cells for the solar panels under the floor to make sure there was plenty of room above board for both things and stuff.
We just had to toss in a few Scout tools.
